GAMER
The best word that cold be used to describe this album is hypnotic. Its not party music, club music, or perhaps even music to listen to in company when socialization is necessary. It is more like the narcotic sounds needed to send you deep in thought about your own existential singularity. There is a good variety of sounds. Banks switches between spoken word and soft vocals very smoothly in her songs. My favorite songs from this album where "fuck with myself" and "weaker girl" which also just happen to be the only two explicit tracks on the album.

The Altar is Banks' second studio album. With this project, Banks sets the bar for similar electronic indie artists. Whilst her first piece of work Goddess provided a pleasant experience, it was very forgettable. With this record, though, Banks definitely raises the game with some killer vocals and exceptional production. The tracklist flows nicely and she doesn't hesitate to jump straight into it. Unlike her first project, which I felt took too long to get somewhere, The Altar gets to the point straight away with "Gemini Feed", a catchy dark pop song with some bad-ass "fuck you" lyrics. The majority if not all of the songs on this project are very memorable and have a lot of replay-ability. With The Altar, it seems that Banks has found her sound and style. I hope she continues to produce incredible content like this.10/10Best Songs: Gemini Feed, Fuck With Myself, Trainwreck, Judas, Haunt
