Too harsh William. Run With The Pack is slightly more introspective and soulful than the previous two chartbusters, but soulful fits Paul Rodgers beautifully and he steals the spotlight on this release. It is an essential for Bad Co fans.
As classic as the first two albums are, this is probably the one I listen to the most. There's a bit more emphasis on Rodgers compositions (which isn't a bad thing at all), but Ralphs gets in some great rockers with Live For The Music, Sweet Lil' Sister, and a co-writing credit on Honey Child. Rodgers' songs tend to be more pop than rock sometimes but the title track is the highlight of the album. Hardly a pop song, it is a fantastic performance (among their best) with beautiful string embellishments towards the end that add weight and majesty to the song. 2 stars is a joke. Maybe 4 stars is a hint too high but I'll err on the 4 star side as even 3 stars sounds too low for this album that has a good 6 or 7 great songs.
This LP is the third shot from this great classic rock band. Big hits, superior touching slow jams, and a band in great form, chemistry. There is no filler, just flip it after run with the pack. Love AMG, but they sometimes miss the boat. Just listen to , Love Me Somebody. This was an amazing contribution to any lad’s youth, back in 76.
This album comes the closest to their classic first album.
This lp doesn't have the mega-hits as their 1st 2 lps, but all of the songs are good. The band sounds relaxed on this lp in a good way. Never as innovative as Zep or Queen, Bad Co. fills the niche for easy-listening blues pop-rock.
