Despite the fact their self-titled debut album was fantastic, Electric Wizard did not fully come into their own until their sophomore album, Come My Fanatics... The most notable change is an extra layer of sludge and fuzz that just make the band sound even heavier than before, if that was at all possible. Speaking of heaviness, opener Return Trip may be one of the heaviest songs ever recorded not only musically, but lyrically, too... Jus Oborn doesn't have much to say during this ten minute epic, but the several lines he does sing are tinged with deep seated misanthropy. The only major issue I have with the album is while the rest of the songs on it are all pretty good as well, they don't have the same shock and awe as Return Trip. This is not an issue with their follow-up, Dopethrone, which is a top to bottom classic. And despite this minor shortcoming, Come My Fanatics... is also a classic.Favorite Track: 1. Return Trip
